About
My name is Emrys, and my spiritual practice has been developing for more than two decades. What began as an interest in witchcraft grew into a deeply personal path built through study, experience, experimentation, intuition, and years of working directly with my craft.
I am an eclectic witch and spiritual practitioner, as well as the High Priest of the Coven of Hekate. My practice is not confined to one tradition. Over the years, I have studied and worked with different magical systems, correspondences, forms of divination, spirit work, planetary influences, candle magic, spellcraft, protection work, and both traditional and personally developed methods of witchcraft.
At the center of my practice is the belief that magic should have purpose.
I do not believe in simply throwing ingredients together and hoping something happens. Timing matters. Intention matters. The symbolism behind what is being used matters. The words spoken over a working matter. Most importantly, the energy and purpose behind the work have to make sense together.
My Approach to Witchcraft
Much of my spellwork is created rather than copied.
I may begin with the purpose of the working, research the magical properties and correspondences associated with it, consider planetary or astrological timing, and then build the spell from there. Herbs, oils, candles, colors, sigils, written petitions, elemental symbolism, and spoken words may all become part of the final working.
I also use divination as part of my practice. Before certain workings, I may read the situation first to better understand the energy surrounding it, whether the timing is appropriate, what obstacles may be present, and what direction the work should take.
Some spells are carefully planned. Others develop intuitively as I work.
Both have a place in my craft.
Divination & Spiritual Work
Divination has always been an important part of what I do.
My work includes tarot and intuitive spiritual readings, along with experiences I describe as clairaudience, clairvoyance, and mediumship. I use these abilities alongside divination rather than treating them as a replacement for it.
For me, a reading is not about telling someone that their future is permanently written.
It is about looking at the energy surrounding a situation, recognizing patterns, identifying possibilities, and giving someone a clearer understanding of what may be unfolding around them.
People still have choices.
The future can change as circumstances, decisions, and people change.
Deity & Spirit Work
My spiritual path has also included relationships with deities and spiritual beings, particularly Hekate, Anubis, and Ra.
I respect deity work as something personal and intentional. I do not believe every spell requires the involvement of a deity, and I do not automatically invoke one simply because I am performing magic.
When deity work is part of a ritual, it is there for a reason.
Hekate in particular has held an important place within my spiritual path, my practice, and the development of Mystic Hekate.
Light, Shadow & Baneful Practice
My practice includes both protective and constructive magic as well as the study of baneful work.
I believe understanding witchcraft means being willing to study more than one side of it.
Protection, healing, prosperity, road opening, communication, love, uncrossing, cleansing, and spiritual development form a large part of my work. I have also studied bindings, jinxes, hexes, curses, reversals, transmutation, and other forms of defensive or baneful magic.
I do not view darker magic as something that needs to be performed constantly. For me, it is another part of understanding the craft and having a complete spiritual toolkit.
Knowing how something works can be just as important as deciding whether to use it.
Creating My Own Magical System
Over the years, my practice has become increasingly personal.
I have developed my own spells, ritual methods, sigils, correspondences, spiritual exercises, oils, powders, candles, and other workings based on what I have learned and experienced.
I pay close attention to how a spell behaves after it is performed—the candle flame, wax, glass, dreams, divination, changes in circumstances, and other signs surrounding the work.
I also believe magical work sometimes needs to be maintained.
Some workings feel permanent. Others feel more like a battery: they can weaken over time and may need to be reinforced, recharged, or performed again.
Part of becoming experienced in witchcraft is learning the difference.
The Grimoire
One of the most important parts of my practice is documenting it.
My grimoire is not simply a collection of spells. It is a record of how I practice witchcraft—my correspondences, observations, rituals, spiritual experiences, sigils, divination methods, deity work, experiments, successful workings, variations, and lessons learned along the way.
Some pages preserve established knowledge.
Others preserve things that exist nowhere else because they were developed through my own practice.
I believe a witch’s book should grow with them.
It should show experimentation, changes in understanding, notes added years later, mistakes corrected, and ideas expanded as experience grows.
Mystic Hekate
Mystic Hekate grew naturally from my spiritual practice.
Through it, I offer tarot and spiritual readings, spellwork, custom spiritual services, ritual products, and handcrafted items created around the same principles I use within my personal practice.
My goal has never been to present witchcraft as something mysterious simply for the sake of appearing mystical.
I would rather help people understand why something is being done.
Every herb has a reason.
Every candle has a purpose.
Every symbol tells part of the story.
And every working should begin with intention.
After more than twenty years of practicing witchcraft, I am still learning, experimenting, studying, writing, and allowing my craft to evolve.
That, to me, is what being a practitioner truly means.
